Delaware Municipal Court Marriage Records
Marriage records are documents that verify the existence of a marriage. In Ohio, marriage records are preserved at the county level by the probate court, not the municipal courts. As such, the documentation for individuals who get married in Delaware is generated and preserved by the Delaware County Probate Court.
Ohio marriage records are generally open for public inspection. Members of the public may search and find marriage records from 1996 to the present on the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas Public Portal. A certified copy of a marriage record can be obtained in person at the Probate Court or by mail request. For marriages that happened before 1996, individuals may call the Records Center at (740) 833-2140 for instructions on how to obtain the certificate.
